Ardley hits out at ‘soft penalty’ in goal fest

HARRY Pell’s penalty rescued a point for Colchester following a thrilling draw with bottom club Notts County.
Colchester took an eighth-minute lead through Sammie Szmodics, who fired home first time from close range from Courtney Senior’s assist.
But Jon Stead stabbed home a 16thminute equaliser for Notts County at the far post, after David Vaughan’s corner had sailed across the sixyard box.
And two minutes later, Dan Jones slammed home from 10 yards to put the Magpies ahead, from Andy Kellett’s pass.
