PORTSMOUTH midfielder Ben Close hopes he can hold down a starting spot after making an impact as the club maintain their promotion push.
The 22-year-old academy graduate said: “I’m pleased to have started the past couple of games and I want to stay in the team for as long as possible.
“The squad is stronger this season, so playing is a tougher task. That competition can only be good for the club.”
