WHELAN BACK AT THE START

CREWE defender Corey Whelan is delighted to rejoin the club where his career began.
Whelan, 20, on loan from Liverpool, started in Crewe’s academy side before joining the Reds at the tender age of 10.
He said: “I was here as a young lad, I’m familiar with the set-up. As soon as the opportunity came along
to come back I snatched at it.
“It is always something I wanted to do, because this is where it all started for me.
“Crewe were the club that introduced me to the game so I have much to thank them for.”
