WILL Nightingale’s owngoal proved costly for AFC Wimbledon in midweek, but manager Neal Ardley is convinced he will provide long-term benefits to the Dons.
Trailing 1-0 to visitors Walsall in midweek, centre- back Nightingale, 23, collected the ball from a throw-on and then, without looking, struck the ball past his own keeper Tom King, who had moved wide of his goal to create an angle for him.
