MORECAMBE boss Jim Bentley has ended a long pursuit by finally signing striker AJ Leitch-Smith. The 28-year-old was released by Shrewsbury Town at the end of last season.
Leitch-Smith joins the Shrimps on a one-year deal and is someone who Bentley has always admired.
Bentley said: “AJ’s a player that I’ve always been impressed with.
“I’ve tried to sign him a couple of years ago and I’m sure he’ll do well for us.
“AJ is very experienced, he’s played at different levels and is a good all-round footballer.”
