PRE-SEASON is a time that few players enjoy and as the first game looms so the training starts to revert back to the norm.
To quote Charles Dickens in Great Expectations: “I have been bent and broken, but – I hope – into a better shape.”
They have put in the hard graft, they will have covered the required mileage and spent enough time in the red zone, that now the players just want to get playing and into their ‘zone’.
As the first game as drawn nearer, so has the most likely starting XI, both in pre-season games and in training matches.
