IT’S TIME TO BACK JOLLEY

I WAS a little scathing about the gushing paean to Michael Jolley released by Grimsby Town on his appointment as manager back in March.
It heralded the dawn of a progressive new era under the rookie manager and former Cambridge University graduate, which, while admirable, slightly overlooked the small matter of securing League Two survival – and it turned out to be a pretty close call, too!
Jolley deserves great credit, however, for galvanising the players and mustering three wins from the last four games to secure League football.
Now is the time for the board to back up their rhetor...
