PORTSMOUTH manager Kenny Jackett believes now is the time to shine for Jack Whatmough after the defender’s quickerthan- expected return from a serious knee injury.
Whatmough, who came through Pompey’s academy, started in their first seven matches of the season before being forced to undergo surgery that was thought to have ended his campaign.
However, the 21- year-old defied expectations by making his return to the starting line-up against Gillingham two weeks ago and was picked again by Jackett for the 2-0 win at Oldham that followed.
