STAR MAN BRAD HALLIDAY Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE groundsman Ian Darler was in at 4am on Saturday morning to clear snow off the Abbey Stadium pitch and ensure the derby with Luton went ahead.
He and his team of staff and volunteers were rewarded with the sponsors’ man-of-the-match award at the end of a thrilling game worthy of such Herculean efforts.
Table-topping Luton were in charge when goalscorer James Collins picked up a needless red card for two bookings, but this gave Cambridge the impetus to push for an equaliser, and Jabo Ibehre ensured a deserved result.
