RHYS HAILS STEVE – AND SETS SIGHTS ON STEP UP

RHYS Bennett has thanked former Mansfield boss Steve Evans for playing a pivotal role in his career – but says the Stags must now go on to win promotion without him.
Evans stunned the League Two promotion- chasers by resigning last Tuesday and was then appointed manager of third tier Peterborough the following day.
Bennett, 26, who played every minute of every game last season, told The FLP: “I have to give Steve a lot of credit. When I signed, it was as a right-back, but we had four injuries at centre-half in his first game and I played there.
