PREMIER FOCUS IS JUST NOT THE TICKET

IT MAY have gone largely unnoticed, but UEFA’s Club Licensing Benchmarking Report provided some interesting stats last week.
Among them was the one which showed that the Championship was the third most-watched league in European football in 2016-17.
Following in the footsteps of the Premier League (13.6m) and Germany’s Bundesliga (12.7m), the Championship attracted more than 11m supporters over the course of the season (11.0).
That means England’s second tier enjoyed more spectators than Spain’s La Liga (10.6m) and Italy’s Serie A (8.3m).
