ADDICKS GET STAGE FRIGHT

ON A day that was supposed to celebrate their past, Charlton’s hopes for the present took a blow.
A bumper crowd ought to have lifted Karl Robinson’s side, but in the end they appeared to be slightly overawed by the occasion.
Portsmouth, though, are a side in form, and thoroughly deserved all three points – even if the winning goal was a little fortunate.
Both these two sides have had many ups and downs in the last 25 years but on this evidence the visitors are better equipped for a return to the glory days.
