BLACKPOOL stormed into the knockout stages with a thumping 4-1 win against Middlesbrough Under-21s.
Danny Philliskirk led the way with a double, while Sean Longstaff and Sessi D’Almeida were also got on the scoresheet. Luke Ar mstrong netted for Boro.
Blackpool top Northern Group B with seven points from three matches, while Boro are out after losing all three of their games. Wigan (five points) and Accrington Stanley (three) will meet in the final group game on Tuesday to decide the other qualifier for the last 32.
