JACOB Mellis is aiming to become a driving force behind Mansfield’s promotion push after forcing his way into Steve Evans’ starting XI.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Chelsea from Sheffield United for a £1m fee as a teenager, joined the Stags from Bury on a free transfer in the summer.
At the start of the season, the midfielder regularly appeared as a substitute, but Mellis has become a more regular starter in recent weeks – and he’d like to keep it that way.
