McARDLE GLEE AT GETTING IRISH CALL

SCUNTHORPE captain Rory McArdle has spoken of his thrill at receiving a Northern Ireland call-up.
The 30-year-old defender was included in Michael O’Neill’s squad for their upcoming World Cup playoff games against Switzerland.
He said: “ It came as a bit of a surprise, to be honest, but I’ve always maintained that, if an opportunity did come to get back into the squad, then it’s something that I would be over the moon with.
