CARETAKER Gillingham manager Steve Lovell pleaded for a chance to take the job on fulltime after the club ended a difficult week with an important victory.
Struggling Gillingham’s second league win this season came under their third manager thanks to a long-range curler from Lee Martin which lifted the club to third bottom.
Lovell stepped up as caretaker following the resignation of interim boss Peter Taylor on Thursday, and he hopes his side’s first away win will persuade chairman Paul Scally to give him the job on...
