IN-DEMAND Mansfield manager Steve Evans insists his players deserve the plaudits for the Stags’ early-season form, after the club rejected an approach for his services from Gillingham.
The 54-year-old has been in the hotseat at Field Mill for less than a year, but with the Gills top job still vacant following Ady Pennock’s departure from the League One club, Evans’ name was top of the list last week.
