FIVE years ago, nobody thought a Championship side would ever pay £15m for a player. So how long before crazy fees start trickling into League One?
Give it a couple of years and don’t be surprised to see teams at that level spending £3m on a striker. As Garry Monk said recently, the whole market has gone from silly to outright ridiculous.
The more money that floods into the Premier League, the richer the teams who drop out. Those who want to compete are forced to spend more. Those just trying to survive also have to spend more. On and on it goes.
