JACK, 16, CARRIES HOPES OF FANS

FAN-FUNDED Jack Sparkes, 16, has shown real maturity for such a young player, according to Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale, who handed him his debut last weekend.
The winger came on as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Swindon Town and could have won the game for the Grecians with a long-range shot that hit the woodwork.
Sparkes is wearing the No.31 shirt this season, with his salary being paid by members of Exeter’s ‘1931 Fund’ – made up of fans who each pay £19 a month towards his wages.
