DELIGHTED MARTIN GETS PENNOCK’S CAPTAIN CALL

GILLINGHAM boss Ady Pennock has named Lee Martin as his captain for the new season.
The 30-year-old, who signed for the club last summer, was told the news before Thursday’s pre-match press conference
He said: “It’s a real honour; I’m delighted. Having come back from a serious injury I now feel good and am looking forward to the season.
“I think (as captain) you’ve got to be vocal on the pitch, communicate with the manager and make sure the boys are all right.”
