JON Whitney has called on his Walsall players to kick on and challenge for promotion this season.
The Saddlers finished 14th in an inconsistent campaign and Whitney hopes his side can be more competitive this time around.
The 46-year-old said: “We expect to compete in every game. We wanted to push on from where we finished last year and I’m sure we can with this group.
“Everyone has got to fight to get something from us and that’s what we’ve drilled into the players.
