NO ESCAPE ACT THIS TIME

EVEN the greatest survivors can’t cheat death forever. All those escapes – it had started to feel like Hartlepool were indestructible.
This season has proved their mortality. Financial problems, awful recruitment, the appointment of a manager so misjudged that Jeff Stelling used Soccer Saturday to denounce it.
With chairman Gary Coxall gone and CEO Pam Duxbury seeking a shift towards fan ownership, Pools face an uncertain future.
Yet many broken clubs have rebuilt and returned stronger. It may take time. It may be painful. But let us hope Pools can follow suit.
