AT ONE point it seemed Bolton had done enough to seal promotion, but the battle goes on until the final day.
Wanderers needed to return to winning ways, and with the man advantage they did enough in the end to do exactly that.
Had Jerome Thomas scored instead of hitting the post, things may have turned out differently, but Bolton ultimately deserved the three points.
Michael Brown admitted Vale’s lack of goals could ultimately cost them, and while he backed the team to respond well this week, it’s hard to see where those goals will come from.
